About Our Organization
Mission
To enhance the prestige, morale and well being of the enlisted (former, current & retired)members of the Virginia Army & Air National Guard. To facilitate the exchange of ideas and the solution of problems relating to the enlisted and retired members of the Virginia Army & Air National Guard.
Goal
To provide a method for the individual enlisted or retired member of the Virginia Army & Air National Guard to propose resolutions which can be acted upon by the Association to improve various aspects of the Virginia National Guard.
Benefits
EANGUS consistently seeks and administers programs to benefit the membership. A quarterly publication, The New Patriot Magazine, will keep you informed on EANGUS and its accomplishments. Many programs such as Credit Cards, Auto Insurance Programs and other insurance plans are available.
Past Accomplishments
Among the many noteworthy accomplishments of EANGUS, largely attributable to the Associations grass roots and legislative efforts are:
- VA Home Loan Program for Guard and Reserve members made permanent
- DoD Dental Insurance plans for Retirees and National Guard Members
- Burial Benefits for National Guard Members
- Unlimited Commissary privileges for Guard and Re-serve Members, PX privileges for Retirees
- Retirement age for pay eligibility decreased by Deployment period(s)
- Montgomery & Post 9-11 GI Bill education benefits increases and improvements
- TRICARE benefits for National Guard members who are unemployed or without employer sponsored health-insurance
- Restoration of tax-deductibility of non-reimbursable expenses for travel to drill
- Extended protections under the Soldiers’ and Sailors’Civil Relief Act for National Guard Members
- Increase in IADT points that can be earned in one year.
