Virginia National Guard Historical Foundation (VNGHF)

The purpose of the VNGHF is to provide the guidance, financial oversight and leadership that will support:

a. A Virginia National Guard (VNG) Museum at the Virginia War Memorial that provides for the recovery, preservation, display and explanation of historically significant artifacts that document combat and military operations in which the VNG has been and continues to be an active participant. This site will also serve as a world-class research center for all Virginians to use in their search for family military history records.

b. Professional development for the Soldiers and Airmen of the Virginia National Guard as well as members of all services in the Commonwealth.

c. A Joint Force Headquarters – Virginia (JFHQ) Static Display of significant large scale military items as well as support the rotation of educational materials from the Museum to ensure JFHQ staff and visitors are educated in significant VNG events and history.

d. Army and Air Unit-level Displays/exhibits in local armories/facilities that will be focused on unit-specific history and ensure unit members understand and appreciate the lineage and honors associated.
